Lavanono Bay, Madagascar

Lavanono Bay, South Madagascar, 18/12-2014

Limited internet possibilities is the reason for my recent silence on the net. Apologize for the inconvenience my late answers might cause.

Surrounded by waves and a cactus filled desert, we are currently staying in a beautiful, remote place in the very Southern Madagascar. We are in Lavanono Bay!! :-)

In this little blog post you´ll find some photos from the grandiose scenery surrounding us each day here in Lavanono. More pictures to come when having better internet connection again! :-)

Lavanono Bay with the extraordinary mountain ridge in the background.

Waves and sand dunes in afternoon light. No evening is the other alike :)

The local fishermen leaving in early morning hours.

The pirogues (local fishing boats) on their way out.

After a long day out at sea, the last pirog is coming back at sunset.

As both Christmas and New Year will be spent here in Lavanono, I now wish you all a wonderful Christmas and all the best for 2015!!

More from me in a bit... ;-)

Our current home :) Staying at Gigi´s place in Lavanono Bay.

All for now... More to come... Stay tuned... ;)

Leaving for Madagascar

.

Montreal, Quebec, Canada 13/11-2014

Once again, our suitcases are getting packed and within a day we will find ourselves surrounded by the beautiful cloud formations.

New adventures in remote areas await, which means that I probably will have poor internet opportunities the next two months ahead.

From Montreal, we will make the jump over the Atlantic, to soon thereafter head south to our new destination, Lavanono in South Madagaskar. New place - New adventures!!

But before leaving Canada, I want to share some photos from "The Gardens of Light" taken during our very cold but ohh so cozy visit in the Montréal Botanical Garden :-)

More on the blog when internet allows ..... :-) .....

Hiking in the Canadian forests :-)

.

Montreal, Quebec, Canada 5/11-2014

The month of October has truly been an amazing sight for the eye with rich and various colours on the trees...

.
The beautiful autumn colour doesn't last forever though, and soon we find the Canadian forests in a very different scenario. The days are quickly getting shorter and the temperature drops considerably...

However, this doesn´t prevent us to pack the backpacks and get out into the wilderness!

.
The grey November tones offers an incredibly beautiful sight as well, and the dark evenings make the camping life and the moments in front of the campfire even cozier :-)

.
Happiness is to be in the tent listening to the intensive rain while slowly falling asleep after a great day in the silence of nature...

... many hours thereafter, you wake up to the sight of a warming smiling sunshine and a new day filled with more adventures in the forest and its vast surroundings...

.
Quebec is Canada's largest province by area and is about three times the size of Sweden.

It is, in other words, quite a large area to explore... ;-)

.
Many thanks to Christian and Alain for great companionship in the wild! Shared joy is a double joy!! :-)

Montreal - Cuba

.

Cuba, Caribbean 12 Oct - 21 Oct 2014

After two weeks spent in Montreal, we are leaving a very colourful Canada to soon thereafter find ourselves on the plane heading south...

.
We are on our way to Cuba for kitesurfing!! :-)

.
But kitesurf requires wind and the wind seems to have vacation somewhere else this time... ;-)

.
The days keep being beautiful and sunny, but still without wind. No wind gives perfect conditions for other water activities tough.

So let us get underwater and visit our fish friends! :-)

.
After many hours in the water it feels very tempting to get some shadow under the palm trees and take a small nap in the hammock while continue waiting for the wind to come.

Wohoo!! The wind starts to increase and the weather forecast looks promising for the next days ahead!

Let get the kite gear ready and get back into the water again!! :-)

.
Kites and boards are ready and so the play time begins!! :-)

.
It was long time since I was kitesurfing, 6 months since last time I was practicing this fun sport. Will I still remember how to do..??

.
... off I go!! Jippiee, so fun it is to be back on the board again!! :-)

.
All together, we got 4 days of kiteable wind during our 9 days spent in Cuba. And so it is getting time to head back towards beautiful Quebec and Canada again.

Bye bye Cuba and Caribbean, thanks for a great salty stay :-)
